Z1C-yymmc ^^^ ^^^^^ ||| ||||| ||| ||||| The names of z/XDC's fixes have the structure shown below. Example: Fix "Z1C-1101B" is ||| ||||| the 2nd fix developed in January 2011 for z/XDC release z1.12. ||| ||||| ||| ||||| The APAR name will usually be similar to the target module name. Each APAR may contain ||| ||||| multiple fixes. ||| ||||| ||| ||||| Load module IDR records will usually contain an accurate list of all applied fixes. IDR ||| ||||| records can be displayed either by the LISTIDR command of IBM's AMBLIST utiliy or by the ||| ||||| HISTORY sub-command of a shareware TSO command named "PDS". ||| ||||| ||| ||||+-- Sequence character: A=1st, B=2nd, etc. ||| |||| ||| ||++--- Month ||| || ||| ++----- Year ||| |++-------- Release | +---------- Product: Z=z/XDC FOOTNOTES (when applicable): (!) Special action is required for this fix. Read "IMPORTANT NOTICES" (above) for details. (C) CDF: This maintenance affects the interfaces between XDC-CDF and the rest of z/XDC. The first time that you apply maintenance containing this fix, you will have to bounce the XDCCDF address space. (I) IPL: The effects of this maintenance will not be seen until an IPL occurs. If you would prefer not to wait for an IPL, then read this fix's commentary in Z1CMAINT.EBC. (P) PLPA: Note, if the XDC and XDC31 load modules are installed into the PLPA on your system, then any time you apply any maintenance to them, you will have to issue the following operator commands in order to activate the maintenance. SETPROG LPA,ADD,MODNAME=(XDC,XDC31),DSNAME=lpalibraryname SETPROG LPA,DELETE,MODNAME=(XDC,XDC31),FORCE=YES,OLDEST Note, repeat the 2nd command until it fails. When done, only the newest instances of XDC and XDC31 will remain in the DLPA. All, older instances will have been deleted from the DLPA. (The original instances of XDC and XDC31 will remain in the PLPA, but those will be ignored by the system.) (S) SVC: z/XDC's service SVC and/or hook SVC and/or a system intercept will have to be reinstalled if this fix has not been previously installed on your system. After you have applied this fix, run z/XDC authorized. To do so, do any of the following: - If you are running XDCCDF, then bounce it: C XDCCDF S XDCCDF - Otherwise, run the XDCINIT proc. - Or issue the command: TSO XDCCALLA IEFBR14. Any one of these actions will cause z/XDC to immediately reinstall (as necessary) its service SVC, its HOOK SVC, and the rest of its System Interface. WARNING! If XDC and XDC31 are in the PLPA, then perform footnote (P) *BEFORE* running z/XDC authorized. Then run z/XDC authorized to let it replace its SVC routine(s). After replacing the SVC, if you haven't yet bounced XDCCDF, then bounce it now. Once the SVC has been replaced, if a user then runs a backlevel copy of z/XDC (a copy to which this maintenance has not been applied), then z/XDC's service and/or hook SVC will be unavailable to that user and his ability to use z/XDC's services will, therefore, be limited.
