Education
The z/XDC User's Class is a half day class given at a customer's site.
The course has two objectives:
- To give students an overview of what z/XDC is and what z/XDC can do - the course material provides explanations of z/XDC's interfaces and major components.
- To give students enough command-level information that they can return to their terminals and starting working with, and learning further, about z/XDC.
Materials needed for the course are:
- A suitable meeting area - depending on class size, this can be a conference room or a cubicle.
- A way of accessing z/XDC online - we prefer a TSO session on the customer's computer. By prior arrangement, we will access our own Development Center for an online session. This case requires an analog phone line (not routed through any digital switch). In either case, an online session is very important to conducting the course.
- An overhead projection device for the terminal session - if the customer site does not have an overhead projection device available, we can use a Super VGA monitor to a PC (depending on class size).
- An overhead projection device for foils - the course only uses a small number of foils but the foils are helpful at the beginning of the class.
- A whiteboard, blackboard, or flip chart - a couple each of these are useful for keeping a running log of concepts covered in the class.
- A telephone, preferably with speakerphone capability - this is useful because often we contact Cole Software owner and founder David Cole directly when a participant asks a question that specifically requires his response.
It is ideal if the customer site has terminals available for each participant so each one can "follow along". This is a luxury!
What we expect the student to provide:
- A willingness to learn a new, extremely powerful command syntax
- Materials for taking notes
Pricing
Cost for the course is $3,000USD per session including all expenses. Classes held outside the continental US are $4,000USD per session. Class size is unlimited. For additional information, please contact Bob Shimizu at bshimizu@colesoft.com or at 1 (800) XDC-5150.
Cole Software also offers free, Internet-based training on z/XDC. These classes allow people from far-flung locations to encounter z/XDC for the first time, or brush up on their knowledge. And, since our travel costs are nil with this program, the classes are free!
Bob Shimizu can take up to twenty students at a time, and will schedule multiple sessions if that's what it will take to get the job done. Contact Bob today to arrange your free Internet-based z/XDC User's Class.
