Support - Statement of Support:

The following versions and releases of the XDC products are supported under various versions and releases of the MVS operating system as follows:

• z/XDC z1.10:
• Is supported in z/OS R1.6 through z/OS R1.10. Note that z/XDC Release z1.10 WILL run in z/OS V1R11. However, the new instructions introduced in z/OS V1R11 are NOT supported.
• z/XDC z1.9:
• Is supported in z/OS R1.6 through z/OS R1.19. Note that z/XDC Release z1.9 WILL run in z/OS V1R10. However, the new instructions introduced in z/OS V1R10 are NOT supported.
• z/XDC z1.8:
• Is supported in z/OS R1.6 through z/OS R1.8.
• z/XDC z1.6:
• Is supported in z/OS R1.2 through z/OS R1.7.
• With this release, support for OS/390 is dropped.
• z/XDC z1.3:
• No longer supported.
• XDC/SE S2.0:
• Is supported up to and including OS/390 R2.10 at ARCHLVL=2 (runs with 64-bit hardware enabled, but XDC/SE S2.0 will not exploit the 64-bit features).
• Is not supported in any release of z/OS.

All support is contingent upon the application of the most current maintenance available from the Maintenance page on our Web site.

Note with respect to z/XDC: ColeSoft Marketing's statement "support fo OS/390 is dropped" means that there are certain major things that are not going to work with z/XDC in OS/390 and that we are not planning to fix. This does not mean that we will refuse to consider all problems that do occur. If you do run into a problem with z/XDC in OS/390, let us know, and we will use our best judgment and consideration in deciding how best to help.

Note with respect to z/OS R1.6: IBM made changes for ALRF support that are not backwards compatible with older z/OS's. Consequently, all older releases of z/XDC fail in all instances of z/OS release 1.6 regardless of whether or not ALRF hardware is present. Therefore, z/XDC customers must upgrade to z/XDC z1.6 when they migrate to z/OS release 1.6.
