COLE SOFTWARE ANNOUNCES THE GENERAL AVAILABILITY OF z/XDC^® RELEASE z1.8

AFTON, Va., October 09, 2006/ -- z/XDC^® z1.8, the newest release in the XDC line of mainframe development tools is now available!

Cole Software LLC is pleased to announce the general availability of z/XDC^® release z1.8. Major enhancements to this release of the essential Assembler programming tool include:

• Support for debugging Service Request Block (SRB) mode programs;
• The ability to run z/XDC as a Functional Recovery Routine (FRR) for task mode or SRB mode programs;
• Support for REXX commands in z/XDCs User Commands Exit interface.

z/XDC release z1.8 also includes the following additions and updates:

• The ability to more easily scroll through storage;
• The option to include or suppress the display of code generated by macro expansions;
• New system security rules and changes;
• A new Quick Start option for debugging sessions invoked with XDCCALL;
• Support for new IBM System z9 Enterprise Class (z9 EC) and IBM System z9 Business Class (z9 BC) machine instructions;
• Support for compound logic in conditional breakpoint expressions;
• Improvements to the commentary data entry window;
• Improvements to storage format and display;
• New LIST commands including: LIST CONSOLES, LIST LOCKS, and LIST SECURITY;
• New SET commands including: SET CONSOLE, SET LOCKS and SET SECURITY.
